Conference Volunteers
Dysautonomia International is looking for volunteers for the following committees to help plan our 2013 Dysautonomia Patient Conference & Lobby Day, which will be held from July 6th-8th in Washington, D.C. We depend entirely on volunteers for all of the work we do. If you are able to help with any of the following, please let us know. Many of these projects can be done from home, so even if you can't make it to the conference, you can still help. Thank you for your support!
Fundraising Committee
You can participate on the Fundraising Committee even if you don't plan to attend the conference. Fundraising Committee volunteers will reach out to individuals and businesses who may be interesting in Sponsoring the conference. They will help sell Journal Ads and gather donations for the Silent Auction to be held during the Gala dinner. The various sponsorship opportunities range from $50 to $5000+. Fundraising Committee members are not required to donate themselves. Volunteers who raise $500 or more will be provided with admission for two to the conference and other benefits. Please see the Sponsorship Opportunities page for more information. To volunteer for the Fundraising Committee, please contact Clover Yordanova at cyordanova@dysautonomiainternational.org.
Lobby Day Committee
You can participate on the Lobby Day Committee even if you don't plan to attend the conference. The Lobby Day Committee will help arrange meetings with key House and Senator members and relevant federal agencies. They will help prepare written materials for Lobby Day attendees on the issues we will be lobbying on, and they may be asked to lead small groups to meet with individual House and Senate member offices. They will also arrange for bus transportation and disability accommodations for our trip to Capitol Hill. To volunteer for the Lobby Day Committee, please contact Lauren Stiles at lstiles@dysautonomiainternational.org.
Programming Committee
Programming Committee should plan to attend the conference. These volunteers will ensure that the conference's scheduled programming goes smoothly. They will make sure our invited speakers have adequate travel, lodging and meal accommodations, assist with audio-visual services, and distribution of program materials. To volunteer for the Programming Committee, please contact Jodi Epstein Rhum at jrhum@dysautonomiainternational.org.
Host Committee
Host Committee volunteers should live in the Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C. area, and should plan to attend the conference. The Host Committee will help coordinate with the hotel and catering, the social activities during the conference, the Gala Dinner, the guest comfort station, and the conference registration desk. To volunteer for the Host Committee, please contact Ellen Kessler at ekessler@dysautonomiainternational.org.
